Work, Employment, Organisation and Public Policy (WEOPP)
Our research and teaching address all forms of work and employment as well as a plurality of organizational forms and practices in the globalized world. The impact and engagement of our research and teaching extends from the local economy to global institutions.
We are particularly interested in an interdisciplinary study of work and organizations. Understanding various forms of work and organizations entails understanding their connections with wider social, political and cultural issues. We believe that research should be of benefit to wider society. Working with diverse stakeholders (trade unions, the third sector, business, and policymakers), we contribute to the development of improved and alternative policies and organisational practices globally.
The focus of our research, teaching and engagement is on:
- Political economy and future of work and employment, especially digitalization
- Organisational theory and behaviour, including alternative forms of organizing and governance
- Industrial and public policy
- Critical, feminist and postcolonial perspectives on management
- Rethinking methodologies, such as participatory and creative methods.
