ALSPAC has successfully passed its latest surveillance audit, maintaining its ISO 27001 certification - the internationally recognised gold standard for information security.
The audit involved detailed interviews and system inspections across the organisation, led by ALSPAC’s Chief Operating Officer Lynn Molloy and Research Systems Technical Manager David Hutton. ALSPAC has held ISO 27001 certification since 2012 and continues to meet the standard through annual independent audits.
ISO 27001 requires organisations to take a proactive approach to managing information security. This includes identifying risks, assessing potential threats and vulnerabilities, and continuously improving systems to protect data.
The certification is awarded by the British Standards Institution.
Lynn Molloy, Chief Operating Officer, said: “We’re pleased to have maintained our ISO 27001 certification, reflecting our ongoing commitment to the highest standards of information security. Protecting participant data is central to everything we do, and this accreditation provides assurance that our systems and processes remain robust. Thank you to everyone across ALSPAC who contributes to keeping our data safe and secure.”
This achievement reinforces ALSPAC’s commitment to safeguarding participant information while supporting world-leading research.
