Performance Player Pathway

In September 2017, we launched our Performance Player Pathway, designed to help identify and develop talent. It brings our Performance landscape together for the first time and supports children from mini red (U8) to postgraduate students competing in BUCS tournaments. Currently, players on the Performance Player Pathway will have been invited to participate by one of the coaches.  In the future, we will be hosting PPP fun days to give opportunities to any player to find out more about the programme.

Partner Schools

We currently run after-school clubs at Westbury on Trym Primary School, St Johns Primary School, Merchants' Academy Primary School and have launched an exciting new partnership with Clifton High School which is helping over 150 children from across the school play tennis each week. We want to help schools deliver tennis for all and identify talent. If you would like to find out more about our Partner School programme please get in touch.

Wheelchair tennis

We are working in partnership with the Tennis Foundation, Access Sport and UWE to create opportunities for people who use wheelchairs to play tennis. A team of coaches and volunteers run a session indoors at Coombe Dingle each Sunday 3:30-5pm, the sessions are FREE and available to players of any age. No previous experience required and we also provide all of the equipment. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

We have more tennis courts than most universities in the UK, with four indoor and 10 outdoor courts at our Coombe Dingle Sports Complex site, and a further 11 outdoor courts located within University of Bristol residences across the city. Tennis court and lesson prices (PDF, 309kB)

The city of Bristol was recently voted the best place to live in the UK and it is also home to a University which consistently ranks in the world's top 100 and UK's top ten universities in league tables. We now have a tennis programme that is competitive with the other top universities in the UK.

Student tennis is powered by students, for students, and supported by a team of dedicated staff and coaches. The University of Bristol Tennis Club is one of the largest students clubs in the South of England with over 200 members. In 2018/19 the UBTC committee will be led by Club Captain James Stone and supported by University Tennis Co-ordinator Lowri James.
