Bristol Continuity of Care Calculator

NB: PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PAGE IS CURRENTLY BEING UPDATED. IF YOU WISH TO USE THE CALCULATOR, PLEASE CONTACT PHC-INFO@BRISTOL.AC.UK FOR NOTIFICATION OF WHEN THE UPDATES HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. THANK YOU.

We have designed a new calculator that allows general practices to easily measure their continuity of care.

The Bristol Continuity of Care Calculator generates results using a range of well-recognised continuity metrics, including the UPC, COC and SLICC. These different measures are suitable for different types of practices, including those which have personal lists and those which provide continuity within microteams.

The calculator can provide overall continuity scores for your practice in the last two years, but it can also provide SLICC and modified SLICC scores for your consultations in the last month, which is particularly useful if you want more instant feedback when making changes to your practice’s continuity policies.

The calculator is designed for practices using the EMIS computer system, but a version for practices using SystmOne will be available soon.

This calculator is made freely available as a service to UK general practices, but we ask that you register to use it. Once you have provided us with your email address, you will receive the Bristol Continuity of Care Calculator, the EMIS search that you will require to run the tool and a complete User Guide.
