Zoe told GP online that she had entered the competition to encourage other medical students to consider general practice as a future career.
Maureen Baker, Chair of the RCGP, said: "Zoe submitted a truly inspirational piece which highlighted the positives of the profession and also explored the future of general practice. It touched upon some really important aspects of general practice and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it - a worthy winner. This competition continues to show that there is still a passion for general practice among medical students and trainees, and I’m proud that the College can play a part in showcasing this. "
