Alison Kite, a PhD research student from the Law School, spoke recently about her research at an event organised by Bristol Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) for health policy makers and practitioners.  Alison’s research, which is being carried out in collaboration with Bristol CAB, is looking at the provision of Citizens Advice in GP surgeries and is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. At the moment Bristol CAB offers outreach advice services in three GP surgeries with the aim of increasing the accessibility of advice, in particular for people who are experiencing issues of poverty and poor health. However, funding for such services is piecemeal and this event therefore provided an opportunity for Alison and the CAB to discuss with policy makers and practitioners her research findings on the benefits of such services.  Since then Alison has been contacted by Public Health at Bristol City Council who are interested in finding out more about the research
