Eligibility (International Foundation Programme)

To be eligible for the University’s International Foundation scholarships, students must:

i) Be an applicant to the Arts & Humanities; Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics; or Social Sciences & Law International Foundation Programmes at the University of Bristol;

ii) Start their International Foundation Programme in September 2019;

iii) Be classed as an overseas student for fee paying purposes;

iv) Not already be in receipt of other funding which would equate to more than the full cost of tuition fees alongside a Bristol scholarship.

Eligibility (Undergraduate)

To be eligible for the University’s Undergraduate scholarships, students must:

v) Be an applicant to any undergraduate course at the University of Bristol, with the exception of Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Science;

vi) Start their undergraduate programme in September 2019;

vii) Be classed as an overseas student for fee paying purposes;

viii) Not already be in receipt of other funding which would equate to more than the full cost of tuition fees alongside a Bristol scholarship.

Eligibility (Postgraduate)

To be eligible for the University’s Postgraduate scholarships, students must:

i) Be an applicant to any one year, full-time postgraduate programme at the University of Bristol;

ii) Start their postgraduate programme in September 2019;

iii) Be classed as an overseas student for fee paying purposes;

iv) Not already be in receipt of other funding which would equate to more than the full cost of tuition fees alongside a Bristol scholarship.

Application

i) All sections of the application form must be completed and submitted on or before the deadline of 30th June 2019. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

ii) By agreeing to these terms and conditions you state the information provided in the application is true to the best of your knowledge

iii) The University will automatically consider applications into all eligible University of Bristol scholarship categories, including our Partner Scholarships with external providers.

iv) Applications received by the 31st March 2019 will be reviewed in early April, and successful scholars will be informed via email on or before 26th April 2019. At this stage, some applicants will be informed that they are a reserve candidate for a scholarship. Applications received after 31st March 2019 and by the closing date of 30th June 2019 will be reviewed in early July, and successful scholars will be informed via email on or before 19th July 2019.

v) Upon receipt of a scholarship offer, applicants will be asked to review and sign a scholarship contract. Failure to return this documentation by the deadline set will result in the University offering the scholarship to someone else.

vi) The University is unable to consider requests for increased and/or further funding. The amount of scholarship offered is non-negotiable.

vii) The University’s decision regarding successful scholars of the programme is final, and no further correspondence shall be entered into.

The Scholarship

i) All scholarships will be given in the form of a tuition fee discount and is non-transferable. No cash alternative will be offered.

ii) If the amount of scholarship awarded is more than the cost of the tuition fees, the tuition fees will be covered in full and any remainder will not be issued

iii) Undergraduate scholarships (unless otherwise stated) will be awarded for all years of undergraduate study taking place at the University of Bristol, subject to satisfactory attainment throughout the programme.

iv) If you receive an International Foundation Programme scholarship, this will be valid only for your Foundation year, and will not automatically continue into Undergraduate study. You are however welcome to apply for Undergraduate scholarships in the following year.

v) Scholars who defer their studies cannot defer their scholarship.

vi) Scholars agree to act as a good ambassador for the University of Bristol and at times will be asked to participate in events or promotional activities. Any involvement in these activities will take up no more than 5 hours per term.

vii) The University of Bristol reserves the right to update or amend its scholarship awards without notice, based on the availability and quality of applications that are received.

Important

Unless otherwise stated, scholarships on offer will take the form of a tuition fee discount. Due to strict UKVI regulations, students MUST be able to show they have sufficient funds to cover any remainder of tuition fees as well as adequate living expenses in order to successful obtain a visa to enter the UK.
