Unite Foundation Scholarships

Free accommodation for up to three years for students who have previously been in care or are estranged from their parents.

The University of Bristol is pleased to partner with The Unite Foundation to offer the Unite Foundation scholarship. The Unite Foundation supports estranged and care-experienced students with a rent-free #HomeAtUniversity for up to three years through a nationwide scholarship scheme.

Eligibility

You can apply for the scholarship if you’re:

  • 25 or under
  • a statutory care leaver, care experienced (Scotland), or estranged from your family
  • starting or studying your first undergraduate degree
  • eligible for UK home fee status
  • applying to one of the Unite Foundation’s partner universities (this includes University of Bristol)

Current students who meet the eligibility criteria can also apply for the scholarship.

Visit the Unite Foundation website for full details.

How to apply

Before you apply, read the Unite Foundation application guidance.

Apply for the Unite Foundation Scholarship 2024 via the Unite online application form.

Deadline

The application deadline is 23:59 pm on 14 June 2024.

You must submit a complete and properly evidenced application by this deadline.

Assessment process

The Unite Foundation cannot provide awards for every eligible young person.

An eligible application offers a chance and not a guarantee of a scholarship award. If your eligible application is unsuccessful initially, you will be put on the reserve list and can go through the adjustment and clearing process. You can also reapply the following year.

Further details

Scholarships are reviewed on a regular basis and the Unite Foundation reserves the right to withdraw, amend or introduce new scholarships at any time. Scholarships are offered subject to funding and availability.

Every young person should have the opportunity to succeed whatever their background. Too few young people estranged from family or leaving care realise their potential at university. We want to change that.
