In an increasingly competitive environment there is a growing demand on postgraduate researchers not just to be qualified experts in their subject area, but to be highly accomplished individuals with the skills and attitude to communicate, innovate and adapt within a continually changing landscape.
Our Personal and Professional Development (PPD) programme is designed to ensure that all postgraduate research students have access to the training and resources they need to help them get the most out of their time at Bristol, and to become outstanding researchers with the knowledge and experience to succeed in whatever career path they may choose.
In order to become an outstanding researcher, it is important to develop skills which enable you to do your research well. Equally important, however, are the areas beyond your research itself - learning how to apply project management skills to your work, or developing mindfulness techniques to maintain focus and reduce stress are all vital to developing a range of transferable skills.
