About the PPD programme
Across the world, postgraduate researchers are expected to do much more than just deliver a research project; new challenges include an increased focus on engagement with policy makers and the public, to conduct research that is ethical and transparent, and to openly share the knowledge accrued. These new expectations require postgraduate researchers and supervisors to alter their practice. This is why the Bristol Doctoral College focusses on supporting the whole postgraduate researcher community as they navigate through their research degrees.
Our Personal and Professional Development (PPD) programme is open to all postgraduate researchers and has been designed to support you during the different stages of a postgraduate research degree. The wealth of opportunities available will allow you to engage in development, training and events to get the most out of your time at Bristol, to become outstanding researchers, and to prepare you for your chosen career path.
All PGRs at Bristol can also access skills training and facilities at the universities of Bath, Cardiff and Exeter through the GW4 Alliance.
