How to publicise your work
There are a number of ways in which we can help you to promote your work.
News of interest to an external audience is written up by the Media team as a short press release (two pages maximum). Some releases are only issued to local media, others to national, international and specialist media.
If you would like us to issue a press release about your work, please contact the Media Team. It is important that you notify us before your paper is published online.
If an external body (e.g. a funding council or academic journal) is issuing a press release on your work, please inform the Media Team as soon as possible before the release is issued. This will help us deal promptly and efficiently with any enquiries from journalists arising from the release.
If you would like your story to just appear as a news item on the University website, then contact our Internal Comms Team by emailing your request to email@example.com.
We regularly work with our experts to issue comments on stories in the news and to arrange thought-leadership articles. Please get in touch to discuss opportunities, or we may approach you directly with relevant opportunities.
Social media and other channels
The Media Team will create content and share relevant news on our social media channels, and via emails to staff, staff and alumni if appropriate. If a news story is issued as a press release, it will also appear on the University homepage as a 'latest news' story. We also work closely with colleagues across External Relations to ensure news is shared as widely as possible.

Directory of Experts
The Directory of Experts contains details of academic staff who are willing to speak to the media as authorities on particular subjects. It has also proved a useful tool for other academics, both at Bristol and in other institutions, looking for collaborators.
