New students registering between June and August 2014

Your Faculty or School should have sent you full information about registration arrangements.

Please upload a passport-style photograph for your UCard at least 10 days before you are due to start your studies.  This will ensure that your card is ready for you to collect when you arrive.

If you want to upload your photograph now, please read the instructions, and ensure your photo meets the passport-style photo guidelines.  If the image uploaded is inappropriate or of poor quality you will be asked to provide an acceptable replacement.  There will be a delay in printing and issuing your UCard.  There may be a charge of £10 to reprint your UCard. 

Collecting your student UCard

Your card will be available for collection from the Card Services unit located at Royal Fort Lodge, Tyndall Avenue, BS8 1UH (open Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 4.00 pm).  You will need to bring with you your Certificate of Registration, stamped by your Faculty or School office,  as evidence that you have completed all the registration processes.

Note

If you are unable to upload a photo before arrival, you can have your photo taken and your card made when you arrive, as soon as you have registered with your Faculty or School.  Please visit the Card Services Office, Royal Fort Lodge, Tyndall Avenue (see previous paragraph), taking with you your stamped Certificate of Registration.

Activating your UCard

The first time you use your UCard to access a University building (including the Arts and Social Sciences and Wills libraries), you will need to initialise it .
