Surgical training
Main wet lab
The Vesalius Clinical Training Centre is self-contained and is equipped with 12 operating tables which are height and tilt adjustable, supported with fully adjustable operating theatre lights, and suction, irrigation facilities and basic surgical equipment.
The room can accommodate courses of up to 40 delegates with sufficient space for specialised equipment.
Five large screen HD monitors allow demonstration from a front table mounted camera, with the ability to switch to computer presentation at the touch of a button.
Wi-Fi facilities operate throughout the centre to complement any sessions within the lab.
Additional wet lab and dry skills room
An alternative wetlab is available for smaller groups (3/4 tables) set in an operating theatre environment.
Presentation rooms
Attached to the centre’s surgical training facilities are two presentation rooms.
The first comfortably seats 30 people, with full AVA facilities.
To complete the autonomy of this room there are changing rooms and toilet facilities.
The second room seats up to 50 people and is complete with a refreshment/lunch area and toilet facilities.
Three breakout rooms, which can accomodate up to 10 people in each are also available as part of the facilities.
Medical and veterinary dissecting rooms
Should you wish to offer a course with a larger number of delegates, then we have two other dissecting rooms with a much larger capacity which also offer facilities for training in human and veterinary surgical techniques.
Each of the dissecting rooms is equipped with superb audio visual facilities, Please note that due to undergraduate committments these rooms are only available out of term time.
