Introduction

Woodland Court is owned and managed by A2Dominion Housing Group a specialist provider of quality student accommodation

It is a mainly purpose built residence for undergraduate and postgraduate students, it is especially popular with overseas students and students who favour a quiet and studious atmosphere. The accommodation has the added benefit of the Secure by Design award. The site is protected by digital CCTV and A2Dominion’s 24 hour on call service provides an emergency response to any urgent safety or security issues. The accommodation is also accredited with the National Code of Standards for Larger Developments guaranteeing high standards of management and facilities. A2Dominion Housing Group guarantees that 95% of repairs will be completed within published target times.

Location

Woodland Court is situated on the edge of the main University precinct, barely five minutes walk from most academic departments. It is in the heart of a residential area and students are expected to respect their neighbours need for peace and quiet, in particular the University's rules about noise and creating a disturbance in the neighbourhood will be firmly enforced.

Living at Woodland Court

The Residence is managed by an experienced onsite management team, available in the office during normal office hours. Additionally Student Wardens live alongside the students in the residence. They are postgraduate or mature students who provide practical guidance and pastoral care for the students outside of office hours.

All undergraduate residents are automatically members of Orbital, which in addition to a programme of events in Freshers’ week arranges social events throughout the year. In addition the Junior Common Room Committee ensure that freshers are able to enjoy range of enjoyable and interesting activities.

The Residence benefits from courtyard gardens, small common room, launderette and bicycle store. It has easy access on foot to the centre of town with its clubs, pubs, theatre and cinemas.

Accommodation

In total the property provides 200 en suite study bedrooms in cluster flats arranged over 4 floors with a central courtyard. 106 rooms are reserved for first years arranged in flats of four to seven rooms sharing a kitchen/diner. The remaining rooms are let to postgraduates.

Each study bedroom has its own en suite shower, washbasin and WC. In addition each room is equipped with a telephone, network connection point and TV aerial socket.

The accommodation is furnished and equipped to a high standard. Some of the rooms are specially adapted for the needs of students with impaired sight or mobility.
