Neurology
Small animal neurology group
We provide a high quality, cutting edge clinic treating neurological disease in companion species – predominantly dogs and cats. We use MRI, advanced surgical techniques and electrodiagnostic testing amongst other methods to provide this treatment as well as using the clinical material for clinical research.
We have current active research projects into:
- Implantable Vagal nerve stimulators in dogs with intractable epilepsy
- Diagnosis, management and improving understanding of auto-immune canine encephalitis
- Canine neosporosis
- Optimisation of clinical reasoning in veterinary neurology
- The impact of timing of surgery following spinal cord injury
