Dr George Nava
Dr George Nava is a NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow and Specialist Registrar in Respiratory Medicine in the Southwest. His research interests include the early determinants of lung development and the origins of lung disease.
He has worked with the MRC IEU and ALSPAC to analyse the impact of mental health and wellbeing on participants with asthma. He was part of the AERATOR study team funded by an NIHR Rapid COVID call, which investigated aerosol generation during medical procedures and informed national protocols for the safe restoration of NHS services during the COVID pandemic. He has also collaborated with members of the pleural research team on a variety of projects.
He is currently in the process of applying for a PhD fellowship based in the ARU which will include collaborations with the MRC IEU, ALSPAC and Sheffield University POLARIS team who have pioneered hyperpolarised MRI scanning of the lung.
