What to expect at your Theatre and English Joint Honours offer holder event

We have planned the day to provide you with a taste of studying your subject at Bristol as well as insights into making the most of student life here.

This event is for offer holders for the following courses:

• Theatre and English (BA)

If you are a Joint Honours student, you may attend Single Honours offer holder events for each part of your degree if you are unable to attend the Joint Honours event on this date. 

Please book one subject from your Joint Honours degree using the booking form. If you would like to attend an event for the second subject on a different date, contact on visit-us@bristol.ac.uk +44 (0)117 394 1649 and the team will help arrange this for you.

10 am - 10:15 am

Registration

A warm welcome to the Department of Theatre, where you will be greeted by our Academic staff and student ambassadors with the information you need for your day. 

10:15 am - 10:45 am

Taster Lecture

One of our academics will give a lecture that draws on their research and will give you an experience of how staff research interests are used in teaching on the course.     

10:45 am - 11:30 am

Taster Sessions

Join our academics in a taster workshops where you can engage with some of the learning materials taught on the course.   

11:30 am - 12 pm

Course Talk and Q&A session

An introduction to Theatre at the University of Bristol from our team, where we talk about what to expect from teaching, learning and your student experience at Bristol. At the end, you will be able to ask any questions you have to our panel of staff and students. 

12 pm - 12:30 pm

Meet and Greet

To end the session, we have set aside time for you to network with our staff, current students and other prospective students to ask any remaining questions you have.

You will be escorted to your next part of the day by our ambassadors. 

1 pm - 1:15 pm

English Registration

A warm welcome to the Department of English, where you will be greeted by our Academic staff and student ambassadors with the information you need for your day. 

1:15 pm - 1:45 pm

Introduction to English 

An introduction to English at the University of Bristol from our team, where we talk about what to expect from teaching, learning and your student experience at Bristol.

1:45 pm - 2:30 pm

Seminars

Join our academics in a taster seminar where you can engage with some of the learning materials taught on the course.   

2:30 pm - 3 pm

Q&A  

Your opportunity to ask final questions about life and teaching as a student in our school, and to network with current students and other prospective students.    

3 pm - 3:30 pm

Networking Session

Meet our staff, students and other prospective students in a final networking session. This is a chance to ask any remaining questions before you depart.
