Parents, carers and guests

We value the vital role parents and carers play in an offer holder’s decision-making process. As a guest at an offer holder event, you will begin to picture how your student will thrive at Bristol.

Industrial action is planned for 15 April 2026. The visit day will still take place, but the Life at Bristol exhibition may have fewer University representatives.

If parts of the event cannot take place for reasons beyond our control, including industrial action, the University will not be liable for any losses incurred. This includes pre-paid transport costs. If an event is cancelled, we will contact you as early as possible.

You are welcome to join the offer holder on many aspects of the day, such as accommodation and student life tours, student life talks and the Student Life Exhibition. However, due to capacity constraints, many of the academic sessions are only available for the offer holder to attend.

During the free time you may have on the day, we suggest taking the opportunity to explore the areas around campus and see how you can picture your student fitting in. Visit one of our on-campus Source Cafes for locally sourced food and drink, and spend some time in the areas of the city closest to our campus.

Some schools will run dedicated sessions for parents and carers. Details of these sessions will be shared at the start of the academic session if applicable.
