What to expect at your Law and Modern Languages Joint Honours offer holder event

We have planned the day to provide you with a taste of studying your subject at Bristol as well as insights into making the most of student life here.

This event is for offer holders for the following courses:

• Law and French (LLB)
• Law and German (LLB)
• Law and Spanish (LLB)

 

If you are a Joint Honours student, you may attend Single Honours offer holder events for each part of your degree if you are unable to attend the Joint Honours event on this date. 

Please book one subject from your Joint Honours degree using the booking form. If you would like to attend an event for the second subject on a different date, contact on visit-us@bristol.ac.uk +44 (0)117 394 1649 and the team will help arrange this for you.

A warm welcome to the School of Modern Languages, where you will meet our staff and find your session locations for the day.

9:45 am - 10:15 am 

School of Modern Languages Welcome Talk

An introduction to the School of Modern Languages from one of our academic staff. We will talk about how the language side of your programme will work and give you an insight into the learning environment of the School. 

10:25 am - 11:25 am

Departmental Taster Sessions

You will have the chance to attend a taster seminar with the language department for which you hold an offer (French, German or Spanish). The locations of these talks will be given to you when you register for the event.

11:25 am - 12:15 pm

Networking Activity 

Meet our staff and current students, and ask any questions you have about life and study at the University of Bristol.  

12:15 pm - 2 pm

Break

You will have time here to have a break and then make your way over to the next part of your day. 

2 pm - 2:10 pm

Law Registration

Your warm welcome to the Law School, where you will register for the day's event and meet our friendly staff and students.  

2:10 pm - 2:45 pm

Presentation

Welcome and introductions from the Law School academic team. Learn what studying law at the University of Bristol is like, covering teaching, learning and employability support.  

2:45 pm - 3:30 pm

Taster Lecture and Seminar

A taster lecture and seminar to demonstrate our world-leading teaching and research.  

3:30 pm - 3:40 pm

Comfort Break

3:40 pm - 4:30 pm

Student Life Q&A and Tours

Your opportunity to ask questions about life and teaching as a student in the Law School in small groups with current students and offer holders. Tours of the Law School will also take place at this time.  

3:40 pm - 4:30 pm

Parent and Carer Talk

Hear from the Law School's Senior Tutoring team on the support and sense of community that exists in the Law School for students, with an opportunity to have your questions answered.   

4:30 pm - 5 pm

Student Life Showcase and Farewell

Learn about extra curriculars that you can take part as a Bristol Law School student, like mooting, societies and clinics. 

Have a chance to say farewell and ask any final questions.
