Once you have received an offer to study at the University of Bristol, you will receive your email invitation to attend an offer holder event.
We have planned the day to provide you with a taste of studying your subject at Bristol as well as insights into making the most of student life here.
This event is for offer holders for the following courses:
- Geography (BSc)
- Geography with Study Abroad in a Modern Language (BSc)
- Geography with Study Abroad (BSc)
9:30 am - 10 am
Registration and Welcome
A warm welcome to the School of Geographical Sciences. Light refreshments (tea, coffee, biscuits) will be provided. This is an opportunity to meet and chat informally about our programme
10 am - 10:30 am
Geography at Bristol
An introduction to Geographical Sciences at the University of Bristol from our team, where we talk about what to expect from teaching, learning and your student experience at Bristol
10:30 am - 12 pm
Parents, Carers and Others Q&A
Those accompanying the prospective students, are invited to return to the Hepple Lecture Theatre to continue
10:30 am - 11:15 am
Human/Physical Geography Taster
The group splits, and half will experience a 'taster' session in Human Geography in the Haggett Computer Lab while the other half will be in our Teaching Lab.
Both groups will learn about the important questions we have in both human and physical geography and learn some of the methods we employ to answer them. This will be delivered by one of our world-leading experts.
11:15 am - 12 pm
Human/Physical Geography Taster
The groups will switch, giving all the opportunity to learn about both our human and physical geography teaching
12 pm - 12:30 pm
Student Perspectives on Bristol Geography
Our students will round off the day by giving their own perspective on our programme and our teaching, from the type of assessments to expect to fieldtrips.
