Serth and Gates Charity Awards
An award towards tuition fee payments for third year Veterinary Science BVSc or second year Accelerated Graduate Entry Programme (AGEP) students, studying for their second degree.
Fee payments are available. We make these payments direct to the University of Bristol towards your tuition fee accounts. We cannot award payments as a cash bursary.
There are 10 spaces available in the 2026/27 academic year.
Eligibility
You can apply if you:
- are in your third year of study for the BVSc or your second year of study for the AGEP
- have completed a different undergraduate degree prior to your BVSc/AGEP
- can demonstrate financial need
- are a UK (home) student for fee purposes.
You do not need to have undertaken your previous degree at Bristol to be eligible to apply.
If you repeat a year after receiving funding, we will not automatically reconsider your application. You must submit a new one.
How to apply
We will invite Eligible Applicants to apply by email by Tuesday March 3 2026. If you have not received an invite and believe you should have, contact scholarships-bursaries@bristol.ac.uk.
Successful applicants will be required to:
- complete a self-certification tax form by the Charity
- write a 500 word report at the end of the academic year to share with the Charity.
Deadline
Applications will close on Friday 3 April at 11:59 pm.
Assessment process
Applications will be assessed by the Trustees of the Serth and Gates Charity (Charity Number 1124777).
If you are selected for this award, you will be contacted by the Student Money Advice and Funding Office at the University of Bristol.
Unsuccessful applicants will not be contacted.
