Translation is principally taught at undergraduate level in the final year. All students take translation classes into English as part of their final-year language unit.
We also offer an optional unit on Translating in a Professional Context which gives students further grounding in translation theory as well as introducing them to today’s translation industry. A new optional unit in liaison interpreting was introduced in 2014-15.
Our laboratories are equipped with industry-standard subtitling software and students also have the opportunity to learn about this very specialised and increasingly popular form of translation.
