SPO Lead the Way with New Research Impact and Innovation Training

The University of Bristol's Science Partnership Office recently lead a successful series of new training sessions for students on the National Environment Research Council GW4+ Doctoral Landscape Training Programme.
On the 28th and 29th of July, the Science Partnership Office ran the inaugural Research Impact and Innovation Training for students on the National Environment Research Council GW4+ Doctoral Landscape Training Programme (NERC GW4+ DLTP).

The two days of training, lead by Lizzie Lawrence and Sara Alvira-de-Celis, were jam-packed with interactive workshops, including:
  • Personal and Research Impact
  • Innovation beyond products
  • Responsible Research and Innovation, delivered by the University of Bristol Public Engagement Team
Delightfully, the room was buzzing with energy as students got stuck into each session. Some of the activities even took place outdoors!

We were also pleased to welcome back the founder of Weaving Change, University of Bristol alumna Weronika Stelmach, to run a hands-on workshop centred around mending and sustainability.

"The engagement and enthusiasm from the NERC GW4+ PhD students made these sessions a real success. By exploring impact, responsible research and innovation, and broader approaches to innovation, students gained valuable perspectives on how their research can contribute to societal, environmental, and economic change beyond traditional academic outputs," shared co-organiser Lizzie Lawrence.

The SPO are excited to continue developing and expanding the training with NERC GW4+ DLTP over the coming year.
