UK's most powerful supercomputer to be created in Bristol

A £225m investment from the Government to create the UK's fastest supercomputer at the University of Bristol was announced on 1 November.

A new supercomputer, known as Isambard-AI, is to be created at the University of Bristol.

Hosted at the National Composites Centre, it will be 10 times more powerful than the UK's current fastest supercomputer and make the UK a world leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The facility will allow a huge leap forward for scientific research requiring intensive computing, including areas such as climate research, data science and drug discovery.
