MMB’s primary purpose is to foster and promote new thinking on migration and mobilities that is critical, creative and conceptually driven, making it distinctively a ‘Bristol’ approach. By expanding and challenging understandings of migration and connecting different types of mobilities, beyond the human and across time, MMB support work that contributes to creating a more just world.
The Centre’s approach to migration and mobilities is innovative, connecting mainstream Migration Studies to research on movements within borders and non-human movement. The Centre has already established an international reputation, and will work collaboratively with organisations including NGOs, governments and trade unions.
