Development-focused research

New to international development research?  Take a look at UKCDR's frequently asked questions. As part of the UK’s Overseas Develoment Assistance (ODA), the Global Challenges Research Fund and the Newton Fund offer University researchers opportunities to foster partnerships that contribute to international development, accessing global expertise and delivering world class research with economic and social impact. The UN's Sustainable Development Goals, which apply to all nations, provide a global context for development-focused research. 

Seeding partnerships

The University helps researchers establish and develop international links through a variety of schemes. The University Research Committee offer the International Strategic Research Fund and colleagues in the International Research Partnerships team and the Worldwide Universities Network provide further ways to engage with colleagues around the world.

News

The news that the UK and the EU reached a Trade and Cooperation Agreement on 24 December included confirmation that the UK will participate in Horizon Europe as an Associated Country.

The International Research Partnerships team provide programmes to host eminent academics from around the world as well as offering mobility grants for Bristol researchers.

The University is part of the Worldwide Universities Network (WUN), a group of 19 research-intensive institutions spanning 5 continents, with programmes to fund collaboration between them.
