Self-regulation in children with autism, Williams syndrome and Down syndrome and typically developing children: parent ratings

26 January 2024

We are two PhD students in the Psychology department at the University of Bristol and asking parents of children aged 5 to 13 years old for help with our research with a raffle of Amazon vouchers up to £100 on offer.

We have a questionnaire asking for parent’s ratings of their children’s abilities to self-regulate.

This study will involve a questionnaire containing 84 statements about regulation. You will be asked to what extent do you think this statement might be true about your child, over the past six months, compared to their peers? This will be on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being strongly disagree and 10 being strongly agree.

The information that we will gather from our study will add to our knowledge of children’s abilities to regulate themselves in a range of different situations for parents’ perspectives, including parents of children with Williams Syndrome, Down Syndrome and Autism. We would hope to publish our results in a scientific journal and report them at scientific meetings.

You should be able to complete this questionnaire in around 30 minutes. For your time you can enter a raffle with Amazon voucher prizes, there is: 10 x £10, 2 x £25, 1 x £50 and 1 x £100.
You CAN complete this study multiple times (once for each child) if you have multiple children aged 5 and 13 years old.
