Development and Validity
The ICECAP-CPM (Close Person Measure) is a companion measure to the ICECAP-SCM, intended for completion by those close to a person at the end of life. The descriptive system was developed in the UK using in-depth interviews with people who had been recently bereaved or were currently caring for a person at the end of life. Analysis used constant comparison. Exploratory index values for the ICECAP-CPM have been estimated through a small deliberative study with participants from the UK general population. Evidence about the feasibility of using the measure and its validity, is starting to be developed.
