HEHP@Bristol has issued the 2026 Newsletter. 

HEHP@Bristol members have been busy getting new projects off the ground, including the highly topical evaluation of weight management medication services led by Karen Coulman and a mixed methods realist evaluation of Nursing Associate roles involving Will Hollingworth, Carlos Sillero-Rejon and Jialan Hong, and networking at conferences far and wide.   
 
We have published on a diverse range of topics: see papers below on the use of magnesium sulphate to protect unborn babies during pre-term labour, some preparatory work to inform the development of a young-person end of life capability measure, a study comparing different modelling approaches to evaluate total knee replacement implants, a modelling study to inform mpox vaccination strategies and a highly ranked paper looking at paramedics in general practice.  And if you are looking for a textbook on using the R programming language in Health Technology Assessment, you’re in luck – see details below! 
 
We have also been getting to know the fantastic students in this year’s MSc cohort, delivering our programme of short courses and (happily) welcoming new staff and PhD students while (sadly) saying fond farewells to others.  Our recent away day saw us welcoming local health economists from Precision and Costello to share work, and to discuss the changes to the NICE threshold and the perils and opportunities of AI in teaching.
