Biography
Familiar with Python, Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Jupyter, Git. I complement my knowledge of data analysis, modelling and machine learning with hands-on experience of remote data collection, large-scale field trials, and efficiency and emissions testing both in the field and in the laboratory. I also have experience as an auditor for the EU ETS greenhouse gas emission trading programme and other laboratory quality systems, with familiarity with the steel, glass, ceramics and lime industries.
Research interests
Senior Data Scientist at the Jean Golding Institute, the central hub for data science and data-intensive research at the University of Bristol. I manage the team of data scientists at the institute as well as working on my own data science projects.
Current interests include urban analytics: data collected by electric micromobility, air quality data, monitoring infrastructure and understanding the vulnerability of people and infrastructure to the effects of climate change. I also have expertise in domestic energy use and low carbon heating technologies. I work with researchers across multiple disciplines including Science and Engineering and Humanities. External stakeholders include industry, government and the third sector. I co-organise the Bristol DataViz Group and co-designed the DataFace training programme for schools as part of the Cheltenham Science Festival.
