The modulation of cue-evoked food seeking: Prefrontal cortex ensemble mechanisms

Cancelled

A Snapshot seminar hosted by the School of Physiology, Pharmacology and Neuroscience

I am currently interested in answering these key research questions related to appetitive Pavlovian conditioning:

  1. How are neurons recruited into a neuronal ensemble during the establishment of a cue-food (CS-US) association and what forms of plasticity do they undergo at the synaptic and intrinsic excitablity levels to do so?
  2. Once the CS-US associations are established, how do neuronal ensembles update changes in CS-US associations such as extinction and reward devaluation, and what forms of plasticity do they undergo at the synaptic and intrinsic excitability levels to do so?
