Raksha Janak’s research focuses on the intersections of the sociology of gender, sexualities, education, psychology and childhood studies. It explores relations of power and social practices through which normative understandings of gender and sexuality are both reproduced and contested. Raksha’s current research project seeks to examine the shape and form of violence in South African schools and on social media platforms using new feminist materialism as a theoretical lens.
