Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in Science and Health (EDIS) Symposium
The Francis Crick Institute, 1 Midland Road, London, NW1 1AT and online
You are warmly invited to attend the EDIS 2023 Symposium on inclusive leadership in science and health research. The Symposium will explore inclusive leadership through a range of sessions highlighting topics such as grassroots community organising in STEM, the role of funders in supporting research careers and equitable research practices.
The Symposium will be of interest to researchers and professional staff from all backgrounds and seniority levels – speakers have been drawn from a range of seniority levels and from professional bodies, funders, various research backgrounds, and higher education institutions.
Posters
As EDIS members, University of Bristol colleagues are invited to present posters on any EDI project, programme, action plan, strategy, or resources recently undertaken.
A focus on inclusive leadership is encouraged where possible, with recognition that not all organisations have focused on this as part of their EDI work. The Symposium organisers recommend this guide from Yale University on creating accessible research posters, including the further reading and tools.
Please confirm if you will be bringing a poster by emailing Robin Craig R.Craig@wellcome.org by Friday, 25 August 2023.
Posters will be photographed by a member of the Symposium team on the day and may be uploaded online for those attending virtually. We also plan to post fully-credited photos of the posters on the EDIS website and social media after the Symposium.
