Researching Family Life

Organised by the Families and Parents Research Group and the Children and Families Research Centre at the University of Bristol

Submissions are invited for a one-day research conference to bring together academics, including PGRs, from across the faculty of social sciences (and interested academics in other faculties) whose research interests focus on some aspect of family life or different roles within the family (e.g. children, parents, mothers, grandparents). 

The in-person event brings together researchers from different disciplinary perspectives and working on different national contexts. Possible areas of enquiry may include, but are not limited to:

  • The governance and politics of state interventions in family life
  • Supporting families through policy and practice
  • The role of family in promoting children’s wellbeing
  • The changing nature of families over time
  • Understanding the lived experience of parents, carers and children
  • The importance of family across the life course
  • Family relationships and mental health. 

DEADLINE for abstracts (max 300 words) is 9th May at 5pm.
