Research Without Borders Festival 2022 - Reasons to be Hopeful: Working together to tackle the climate crisis

A series of lively discussion events with the next generation of researchers. They will explore big themes impacting society today, from tackling the climate crisis to the future of robots and the mental health of children in the digital age.

From empowering female climate refugees, to detecting early warning signs of natural disasters and giving communities the data they need to develop their resilience, our researchers at the University of Bristol are sharing knowledge across disciplines and pioneering new ways to tackle the climate crisis.

This lively event will explore the positive advances that are being made in a range of areas, from engineering to law, politics and gender studies. The audience will be encouraged to join the discussion, as we explore ground-breaking solutions. While acknowledging the huge challenges ahead, the panel also aim to provide a hopeful look at how we can tackle climate injustice and shape a cleaner, more resilient world if we work together.

Free wine, soft drinks and nibbles will be included with your ticket.

This event is being organised by Cabot Institute for the Environment in partnership with the Bristol Doctoral College at the University of Bristol as part of our Research Without Borders 2022 series.
