Jordan Collver - Humanist local contact

Jordan is a freelance illustrator and science communicator with an academic background in history, religious studies, and science communication. He moved from Canada to the UK in 2010, and has worked at the University of Bristol since 2012 (currently Project Administrator for Life of Breath, based in the Philosophy Department).

Although he no longer holds a supernatural view of the universe (as a former-Christian), he finds meaning, value, and spiritual fulfilment in the natural world and shared human experience – striving to celebrate the privilege of existence and preciousness of all life. He is particularly fascinated by the relationship between science and religion, advocating for the importance of dialogue between worldviews where he believes that humanism can offer a valuable response to life’s Big Questions.
