Join us for our next Maths at Work event!
Our Maths at work is an annual event that allows alumni to offer our current students concrete examples of careers open to them following graduation. It gives students the opportunity to gain insight into the transition to professional life, and allows alumni to meet our students, compare experiences and aspirations, and keep abreast of recent curriculum developments.
We are looking for alumni to participate in this event as panellist, where you can share your work experience since graduation, followed by a short questions-and-answers session.
We’re aiming to enlighten first and second-year mathematics undergraduates, although the audience will also include later-year students. The panel will be informal, and include factual career-specific content, as well as addressing questions like “What was helpful in securing employment? How could I have made more of my university education to prepare for the job market?” and so on. Ideally, we would like our speakers to cover a broad range of sectors, with or without a close connection to mathematics.
