Programme information
LLB Law
This is an undergraduate direct-entry degree in law and is the most common form of law degree obtained by UK students. Choosing the LLB in Law at Bristol will enable you to progress onto the Bar Practice Course or prepare, in part, for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE), helping you to develop core legal skills and understanding of the seven foundations of legal knowledge.

Accreditation
The University of Bristol Law School’s LLB Law degree is recognised for the purposes of undertaking the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP) course with a view of admission to the Malaysian Bar according to the Legal Profession Qualifying Board Malaysia.
The University of Bristol Law School maintains strong ties with the Malaysian legal community through regular visits, fostering relationships with alumni, including mentoring current students, law firms, and other legal professionals across the region.
Pathways to practice
Follow these steps for legal qualification in Malaysia:
- Obtain an LLB from a Recognised UK University*.
- Pass the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) or complete the Bar Practice Course (BPC).
- Complete 9 months of Pupillage (Chambering),
- Apply for Admission to the Malaysian Bar.
*A recognised law degree which must be studied for a minimum of three academic years and contain a minimum of 12 law subjects out of which you must have passed six core subjects (i.e. Law of Contract; Law of Torts; Constitutional Law; Criminal Law; Land Law; and Equity & Trusts which each was studied for the duration of one academic year).
