IEU Seminar: Riccardo Marioni

Abstract: I will provide a brief overview of some of our recent and ongoing projects. This includes a description of the Generation Scotland and Lothian Birth Cohort omics, questionnaire, and data linkage resources. The empirical work focuses mostly on DNA methylation and its associations with smoking, alcohol, cognitive ability and dementia, depression, type 2 diabetes, CVD, and the plasma proteome. I will also cover some of the methodological challenges that we face in our work e.g., feature selection for prediction, competing risks and multi-morbidity.
