Title: Leveraging human genetics to accelerate drug discovery and development
Brief abstract: Human genetics evidence has become a common consideration for many pharmaceutical companies during the drug target prioritization and development process. This talk will introduce some strategies of how human genetics is used in the drug discovery and provide some vignettes of how we have utilized human genetics to inform on our pipeline.
Biography: Ellen is a genetic epidemiologist and leads the Discovery Genetics group at Biogen. Her team has several external academic collaborations exploring human genetics resources and capabilities. Her team supports several indications including neuromuscular diseases, multiple sclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease. She was at MassGeneralBrigham prior to Biogen (more than 7 years ago) and did her PhD in Genomics and Computational Biology at University of Pennsylvania.
