COVID 19: Known Unknowns (Facing up to scientific uncertainty during a pandemic)

Uncertainty is rare in views advanced during public discussion of covid-19. However, maintaining scepticism – particularly regarding issues you feel strongly about – is considered the ideal scientific approach. With the old and new media having provided the forum for much academic and practitioner discussion, certainty has been the order of the day. This webinar bring together academic and practitioner speakers from the UK, USA, India, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Norway, Gabon and Sweden with broadcasters and communication professionals. They will offer diverse global perspectives and a detailed look at modelling, testing, medical treatments, vaccines, data requirements and non-pharma interventions. What all speakers have in common is an open attitude to scientific discussion.

The webinar is open to all, but will be of particular interest to researchers, practitioners and science communication professionals. Please click here to register.

As a preface for the webinar, read the editorial by George Davey Smith in the BMJ.
