MRC IEU researchers, led by Dr Kaitlin Wade and Professor Deborah Lawlor, have published the online Mendelian randomization (MR) dictionary.

The MR dictionary provides more than 100 detailed definitions and descriptions for carrying out, understanding and interpreting MR studies. It is aimed at a wide and inter-disciplinary audience, including those new to MR and those who are more experienced in its use.

The dictionary is particularly valuable as MR becomes more widely used in drug development and clinical guidelines. It grew from discussions with colleagues, collaborators and conference attendees, who were keen to have access to an easy-to-use platform providing an overview of MR theory, methodology and interpretation.
