About
The Gender and Sexuality Research Centre is an interdisciplinary hub for leading research on gender and sexuality, grounded in feminist, queer and trans scholarship.
Based in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies (SPAIS), and collaborating with partners across the UK and internationally, our centre champions socially engaged, intersectional and inclusive approaches to knowledge.
We support a vibrant programme of activities open to a wide range of audiences, including students, early career researchers, academic staff, external partners and members of the public. Our collective work facilitates a range of internal and external events, including seminars, annual lectures, reading groups, book launches, visiting scholars, mentoring and pedagogical impact.
Rooted in feminist principles of inclusion and collaboration to ensure all voices are valued and heard, the Centre has adopted a governance structure consisting of three components: a Director and Deputy Director, a Steering Committee, and a membership community.
We welcome collaboration and participation across institutions, disciplines and communities. We hope to act as a connecting point for leading-edge conversations to develop.
