About Us
Advancing interdisciplinary research through data and AI
Founded in 2016 and one of the five University Research Institutes, the JGI connects a multidisciplinary community of experts across the University and beyond.
The Jean Golding Institute is the University of Bristol’s hub for data and artificial intelligence, supporting researchers from all disciplines to explore new questions, deepen insight, and drive innovation and impact. We provide expert data science support, training, and collaborative opportunities that help researchers harness data, data science and AI in impactful, responsible ways.
The Institute is named after renowned Emeritus Professor, Jean Golding, a mathematician, epidemiologist and founder of the Children of the 90s cohort study.
