Education mentoring

Get insight from a professional who’s studied an Education-related degree and is using it in their current role.

How mentoring can benefit you

Get support and advice from someone who has been in your position and can help you to consider your studies in the context of the wider world.

What’s involved?

You’ll be matched with a mentor in a group with around four or five other students.

We arrange the first meeting, then your group will arrange two further meetings. The meetings can be virtual or in person, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask them questions and learn from their experiences and insights.

We also ask you to complete a short reflective report on your experience.

Eligibility

Education mentoring is currently available for first-year undergraduate students studying Education Studies and Psychology in Education.

Applications for the 2019-20 scheme are now closed.

I have been incredibly pleased with how the Professional Liaison Network have approached the pairing process with the mentors – they were very understanding and flexible. There were many options to choose from and they did a thorough job matching us with mentors from all sorts of backgrounds.
