Coronavirus (COVID-19): PLN advice and information

The Coronavirus pandemic is affecting many aspects of university life and study. The Professional Liaison Network is working hard to deliver as many of our activities as we can. Check below for how we have adapted and how you can still be involved.

For more general information on how the university is tackling Coronavirus, visit the main Coronavirus (COVID-19) pages.

During 2020 we adapted our Internships to be remote working opportunities.

Our internship programme is currently paused but will recommence in the spring 2021. Forthcoming internships will be remote working roles.

  • If you are a student and are interested in undertaking an internship, please keep an eye on our regular PLN e-bulletin and check our Internship Listings page.
  • If you are interested in hosting an internship with us, please complete this short online form and we will be in touch when the scheme becomes available again.

During 2020 we adapted many of our Placements to be remote working opportunities, including some new placements with organisations based outside of the UK.

Our current Placement schemes will be finishing in the next few months and we will be recruiting for the next academic year soon.

If you are interested in hosting a student from November 2021, please complete this short online form and we will be in touch shortly.

The Bristol Model Research Assistants

We have adapted our Bristol Model collaborative research projects so that students are able to participate remotely as Research Assistants. We will continue to recruit Research Assistants as remote opportunities.

If you are interested in becoming an Undergraduate Research Assistant, please visit The Bristol Model student page

We have adapted all our Mentoring Schemes to work successfully as remote programmes for the 2020/21 academic year.

Insight Talks

We have moved our Insight Talks online this academic year and are hosting them via Zoom. We have used this as an opportunity to broaden the range of speakers to those working outside of the UK.

  • Students who are interested in attending our Insight Talks can find the latest events on our Talks and Events page.
  • Interested in giving a remote Insight Talk to our students? Please complete this short online form and we will be in touch shortly.

Marketing AEPs / Consultancy

Students have been able to complete their research projects remotely and plan to present their findings online at the end of the unit.

  • If you're a student interested in undertaking a Marketing AEP or Consultancy unit, details of how to apply will be shared with eligible students once your unit options are made available.
  • If you are an organisation wanting to provide a research project for the 2021/22 academic year, please complete this short online form and we will be in touch shortly.
