The School of Education's Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) secondary teacher training will open up an exciting new journey for students who want to train to be a teacher. We offer a wide range of subjects, and your teacher training will combine theory with practice, whichever route you choose.
You will join a collaborative and vibrant community of trainee teachers, and you will be supported by experienced staff who are passionate about their subject.

Accredited Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provider
At the School of Education, we are proud to be accredited by the DfE to deliver initial teacher training (ITT) courses which lead to qualified teacher status (QTS).
From September 2024, the University of Bristol will deliver courses that incorporate the new quality requirements which are set out in the government response to the ITT market review.
