Our CPD Services
Our staff at the School of Education can offer a variety of services as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Find out how their research could benefit you as an individual, external organisation or educational institution.

Dr Katherin Barg
Dr Katherin Barg is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Education, with research interests which revolve around the social inequalities in education.
CPD specialism
Inequalities in schools and unconscious bias
CPD service
In the past, Katherin has run workshops with teachers in which an overview over research on social, ethnic and gender inequalities in education was given, and school-internal processes contributing to these inequalities were highlighted. The workshops also had a focus on unconscious bias in teachers and its implications. Individual and group activities invited participants to reflect on the presented research and their own practice.
This is a two to three hour interactive workshop which can be held in person or online. Katherin is available to visit your school and run the workshop for between 15 and 150 participants. Online workshops are better suited for small groups of up to 20 participants.

Michelle Graffagnino
Michelle Graffagnino is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Education with research interests in climate change and secondary school curriculum.
CPD specialism
Action research
CPD service
Working with school teachers to identify an area to improve, provide research on the issue, and design an action research cycle to analyse the impact the intervention has had on a sub-group of learners. This could be based at the University, or Michelle is available to visit your school to work with staff.

Whole-school approaches to climate change education and sustainability
