Caste and Education in the Global Context
School of Education 35 Berkeley Square Room No. 3.18 Bristol BS8 1JA
This event will be an opportunity for doctoral researchers to know and discuss about caste system in India and globe in terms of education.
The ancient Indian caste system persists today, impacting millions despite efforts to abolish it. Its global expansion is evident, with recent research revealing its presence in major societies such as the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia. Dalit students abroad face discrimination in educational institutions, prompting action in certain regions like the European Union and select U.S. states. This roundtable discussion aims to highlight caste discrimination's global reach, particularly in education, by increasing awareness and advocating for inclusivity alongside other forms of discrimination.
