Find out about Adjustment and how you can apply for a place using this service.

What Adjustment is

Adjustment is a UCAS service that allows you to apply for a place on an alternative course if you exceed the terms of your firm offer.

The UCAS website explains what happens in Adjustment.

Adjustment dates

Adjustment opened on Thursday 13 August 2020.

The time you have to use Adjustment is limited. You have five days (including weekends) to use Adjustment starting from either:

  • Thursday 13 August 2020 at 8 am
  • when you get your unconditional firm offer after 13 August 2020

whichever is the latest of the two.

Adjustment closes on Monday 31 August 2020.

If your offer is confirmed less than 5 days before 31 August, you'll only have whatever time is left between then and 31 August to apply.

Who can apply through Adjustment

UK, EU and international students can use Adjustment.

You can apply for Adjustment if you have exceeded the terms of your original offer.

It does not matter if you have applied to us before or not. If you meet the criteria and we have spaces, we will consider you.

If you have got a place with us and you want to change to a different course with us, you don't need to use the Adjustment process; you can use our Course Change process

How to apply through Adjustment

Step 1 - Register with UCAS

Register for Adjustment on UCAS Track. You will not lose your current firm choice.

Step 2 - View our vacancies

View our Home and EU vacancies and International vacancies.

Step 3 - Contact us or apply online

Apply online using the link on the course page or contact us to see if we can offer you a place.

Make sure you have your UCAS personal ID (if you have one) and exam results and make it clear that you are calling about an Adjustment opportunity.

Step 4 - Get an offer

If we can offer you a place we will send you an offer email. You need to respond to this email to confirm you would like to accept a place at Bristol.

When you respond, we will add your course to your UCAS application. You will then have a place with us. You won't need to do anything else.

Step 5 - Next steps
